Paws of Nature Service Description and Fees

Individual Behavior Consultations 1 ½ hours - starting at $150.00

What it is: Review of Behavior Consult Form. Interview with owner and other family members within the home. An evaluation, interaction, and observation of dog’s behavior within the home and/or neighborhood or review of recorded video. A discussion and summary of training and management recommendations as well as other available options to improve dog’s behavior, with follow up informational handouts as needed.

What it is not: An instant fix for your dog’s behavior issues.

The Tough Stuff - Challenging Behavioral Problems

We offer Behavior Modification Training Plans for all areas of behavioral problems as well as compassionate and caring counseling services to help you make the best decision for you, your family, and your dog. Fear, aggression, food & object guarding, separation anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorders may not be resolved through 1 or 2 sessions with a trainer. These behavioral problems can take a lot of time, effort, patience, and commitment, and many times with only slow and small signs of improvement initially.

If during the consult it is decided that your dog falls into one or more of these categories, the level of severity will be assessed and thoroughly explained. You will be given all possible options for your situation, including non-training options as well. Quality of life and safety issues for all humans and animals involved in the household is taken into consideration when discussing all available options.

Let us do the hard work for you! We can train your dog in your own home and neighborhood, whether it’s some basic manners or a serious behavior problem.

You do not have to be present for these sessions! At the end of each week we will schedule an Owner Transfer session. An Owner Transfer session is where we teach you the skills to attain the same results we have achieved during the week.

  • Day Training programs are customized for each individual owner/ dog situation. Though the program is designed for the trainer to do the bulk of the work, the owner is required to follow management instructions and practice some training exercises during the week.

Dogs & Storks Licensed Presenter

Expecting a baby? We can help!

Preparing families with dogs for life with baby.

Having a baby is a life changing experience for everyone involved, including the family dog. If your dog has never spent significant time around babies, toddlers or young children, don’t wait until your baby comes home to discover potential problems. Preparing ahead will decrease stress and increase success!

Questions to consider:

  • How will your dog react to the sight and sounds of an infant wiggling and crying?
  • Does your dog have areas of his body he is sensitive towards being touched?
  • Has your dog ever exhibited possessive or guarding behaviors around food, bones, toys or sleeping locations?
  • Does your dog exhibit demanding behaviors such as barking for attention or climbing and pushing into you for petting?
  • Does your dog shadow you from room to room and become anxious when separated?
  • Has your dog exhibited any type of aggressive behaviors?
  • How does your dog react to visitors coming and going from your home?
  • Has your dog ever had any formal basic manners training?

These are just some of the things to consider when a new baby is on the way. Dogs and Storks is the first national program that prepares families with dogs for life with a new baby. Jill Haley Rose has been an approved Licensed Dogs & Storks Presenter for the past 9 years.
